I’m slowly making my frilly grandma couch princess dreams come true. I’m still holding out for a full shirring JSK in blue because it will fit me better (I actually can’t close the blouse on me) but the bustle skirt is nice and elegant for the time being and I might be able to get a waist corset or vest to help pull everything together in a way I can actually wear it.

This outfit is full of the things Meta is famous for: their gobelin series items, the socks with their old cross print, their winged rose cross emblem, the swans logo, and a sprinkle of the unusual. 2015 was the first time they made their standard gobelin print in purple rather than brown, and while lavender is a pretty standard color in lolita, darker purples are not seen as much. The princess sleeve blouse was still available new from the brand 3 years after release! I also have a pair of matching hair combs that didn’t make it into the outfit because I really wanted to use this headdress, but it’s nice to have options. The cotton satin ribbon bows on this are a bright, warm toned purple, which doesn’t exactly match the purple in the fabric but it still looks good.

Purple was my favorite color when I was little. 4 year old me would be really excited about this look.

I’m ambivalent on Misako Aoki but I do like the way she wore this series and I’m a little excited I ended up with a similar outfit without a lot of trying.
