Named after a place in Hollow Knight, a video game I’ve been quite taken with lately. I had the Queen’s Gardens background music stuck in my head at the time I put this together and during the photo shoot.

I can’t remember how I found the Sugar Bouquet print, but I fell in love with it quickly. Strawberries and roses are an elegant, sweet combination and a bonnet seemed like the perfect pairing with the dress’ print and bustle back. This is my first Triple Fortune bonnet and I am loving it! I feel lucky to have gotten it for under $100 (thanks Closet Child). It has its own headband built in and keeps its shape nicely. I think I prefer bonnets with more of a round brim (this one is a little squarish). I want another one in offwhite. Watching and waiting for a good deal.

I found a strawberry ring that works nicely for classic coordinates! (It comes in a lot of other colors too, I’ve found.) Glittery resin jewelry a la Angelic Pretty is cute but doesn’t always translate well to more mature feeling outfits. Also most major brand rings are too small for anything but my pinky fingers…

My friend and I had wanted to get together for an outdoor photo shoot for quite some time to practice taking and posing for photos. I wanted to strike a balance between comfortable to wear and easy to move in but also fancy enough to warrant being photographed. I chose this dress because had yet to get good photos in it, and I love this print a lot – so much, in fact, that I have it in pink too. We ended up spending the whole time photographing me, but next time she is going to let me dress her up and we can both take photos!

Another friend who is an illustrator and video game designer drew a doodle of me in this outfit for inktober this year (she didn’t tell me she was doing it) and now it feels extra special. The personal spin she put on it added a new dimension – they seem to reflect both how she sees me and how I feel wearing it. :)
