Azuki's Wardrobe 2021: A Dark, Sweet, Romantic Kaleidoscope

It's that time again. This is my 5th wardrobe post!

2021 wardrobe theme: A dark, sweet, romantic kaleidoscope.

I wear many different substyles in mostly black or dark colored bases, often with a classic touch. My favorite accent colors are red, pink, blue, and purple. My favorite motifs are hearts, flowers, fruits, cats, and sweets.

BLOUSES

The expansion into non-neutral colors continues. I finally bought a custom sized one from Lady Sloth early last year (navy blue) and I love it. I think I should concentrate my money there for unusual colors. (Colors I'm seriously considering: gray, a darker pink, deep purple.) I was able to get my hands on a couple of Maxicimam Lovely plus size blouses and they're wonderful because they are super comfortable, not tight at all. I am intrigued by the new plus size blouses Meta is offering and may shell out for one in the coming year. I also think I want to get one of those airy tulle blouses in black or gold. SOCKS AND TIGHTS

I have 78 pairs of socks, including the ones on the way.

Right at the end of the year I bought a whole bunch of wine and brown socks to try to match with my Flim Flam Brass Band JSK (see the On the Way section), and I feel like now I'm going to have to comb through my collection and sell ones I don't use. I tend to hoard socks because what if I buy another dress and I could wear an outfit with it right away, if only I did not get rid of socks that would have matched? I also bought a bunch of socks from American indie brand Enchanted Dream Couture at the end of the year and they're really cute.

Pretty much all of my tights are offbrand because the brand ones tend not to be plus size friendly (with the exception of the Violet Fane ones on the bottom left, those are great). The top ones are two varying opacities of solid black, semi-sheer tights with rose/damask/heart motifs, and fishnet tights. The plainer ones in the bottom row are solid, except for the ivory lattice motif ones, which I get the most use out of.

SHOES

I am still in search of a good pair of black boots -- the AATP ones pictured are slightly too small in the calf for me to wear the buckled bits around the top so I will sell them. I have this pair from Metamorphose coming soon. They have a heel instead of a platform, but hopefully they will still be comfortable.

WIGS 

I usually prefer to wear wigs because I feel like the extra volume of hair balances better with everything else I'm wearing, and it can be fun to coordinate the color with the rest of the outfit. Additions I'm considering: ringlet wig in blond or brown, and something very dark colored for gothic styles. I want a black wig but haven't tried any so far that look good with my skin tone.

Handmade bonnet/headdress chains, Puvithel earrings, a pair of scale mail handflowers to match the necklace above,a Kira Imai acrylic keychain, lace haori from Magic Tea Party, an overskirt from Marble, a hand mirror with a Yoh illustration on the back, pom poms to tie onto shoes, scarves, and shoe clips in the shape of Metamorphose's winged rose cross.

BAGS

Can you tell I like hearts? I feel like I could use one more black bag for edgier gothic styles. The pink sakura bag was a really lucky find right at the end of the year.

OUTERWEAR

I finally got a proper coat this year! I was hesitant to buy a Maxicimam Lovely coat brand new because it's made of polar fleece that is not heavy enough for winter where I live, but when it came up for sale secondhand for a steal (with tag still attached!) in the colorway I wanted most, I couldn't say no. It fits really well (enough extra room for all the clothes underneath), and is big enough to accommodate a petticoat. I still want a heavier, higher quality one, but this is a great thing to have in the meantime.
