I recently got this dress in the mail and was excited to wear it, especially with its color and spring on the brain. Magnolias have been around for tens of millions of years, and evolved before bees. Wild to think about something this ancient just chilling in my yard. Obviously this specific tree is nowhere near that old, but watching it bloom is an experience that connects me to humans from hundreds and thousands of years in the past. I try to take photos with it every spring.
I finally managed to time it perfectly with full bloom this year!
