Red and black is one of my all time favorite color combinations to wear. This coordinate is brought to you by experimentation with this black mesh lace apron. I bought it thinking I would wear it over black or dark colored prints, but it both obscures the print underneath and there’s too little contrast to see all the beautiful flower embroidery on the apron. I thought this combination looked really nice, with the apron layered over red. It sort of reminds me of my high school prom dress. I like how all the textures and laces look together, too. Can't decide whether it's more classic or gothic, but does that really matter?

I waffled over whether to get this headbow because I couldn’t see the details that well in the photos and I wasn’t sure about the shape but I needed a solid black one, so I went for it. I am so glad I did! It’s from 2006 and it has this lace with big eyelets around the edges, and it’s big but still small enough to look OK with my natural hair. I tried a looped braids hairstyle for the first time and I like it.
